Following are the divisions that points will be awarded. If necessary, each division may be split into several classes at the discretion of each individual show committee. Sovereign and steer classes are set to the discretion of the show committees.

• Intermediate Heifer Calf: born 5/1/19 or after
• Junior Heifer Calf: born 1/1/19 – 4/30/19
• Senior Heifer Calf: born 9/1/18 – 12/31/18
• Intermediate Yearling Heifer: born 5/1/18 – 8/31/18

• Cow/Calf:
  • Cow must be born 12/31/17 or prior
  • Calf must be cow’s natural calf, still nursing, a maximum of 250 days old

AHCA Policy Statement Concerning Highland Breeding Cattle for the Show Ring

It is neither the desire nor the business of AHCA to act as a show ring policeman. It is however within the scope of AHCA’s responsibilities to maintain the integrity of the breed and its breeders. This includes the promotion of the breed in an attractive public setting by both amateur and professional exhibitors, building camaraderie and participation among owners and enthusiasts, and encouraging the selection of highly productive cattle with attributes of the Highland breed. It is also with the scope of AHCA’s responsibilities to mediate and ensure the ongoing contentment within its constituency.

1. Exhibitors must be members in good standing of the American Highland Cattle Association or Canadian Highland Cattle Society.
2. All animals must be owned by the exhibitor and breeding stock registered with the American Highland Cattle Association or Canadian Highland Cattle Society.
